Ringing Chimes make Scary Noises January 30, 2008

So the Mum pulled out the clicker today and wanted me to learn something new. Man, so many new things! The Mum said Lucy knows how to do this and she’ll show me later.. but she wanted me to try it first on my own.

So out come the liver treats too.. man those are good. The Mum just bakes them in the oven for a while then cuts them up, and we all stand around and I want to eat them, and sometimes I want the other dogs to go away… oooo the Mum is telling me I am blogging about the chimes, not the liver! Okay well anyway so she led me toward the Chimes with some of the yummy liver and made them ring. And it was kinda freaky I didn’t like the noise much.

So after the Mum put all those Livers on the chime, she walked away and sat on the couch and watched to see what I would do. Well I knew that darn liver was on the chimes.. but when I tried to get it off on my own, it would make funny tinkly noise. And the Mum says that’s the point, but I didn’t really like it. So I wanted the Mum to hold the chime steady so I could just eat the Livers off!

Well after I wouldn’t get the livers off, the Mum let Lucy come out to show me how it was done. Oh My Gosh. Lucy just ran right over there and tinkled all the chimes, not afraid at all, to get the livers off! She would push it with her nose then look at the Mum, and the Mum would give her more livers. And if Lucy didn’t get livers fast enough, she would push at the chimes again and again and make them fly all over the place! Wow Lucy!

I am not as enthusiastic when it’s just me and the Mum like Lucy is. Lucy danced all over wondering what the Mum wants her to do so she can get some livers. But me, I am not so sure about being alone with the Mum yet, and not so sure about what is going on. So I’m a bit more slow and I think more (thus I get a thinking award yay!). But the Mum says it’ll come, I haven’t lived here too long yet, and it’s all good and yummy and fun. And then after I got to play with Chase on the couch and that was super fun!

Oh, the Mum says that she wants me to ring the Chimes to tell me when I need to go out potty when the dog door is closed. Whatever. I just stare at the door, and that works!

Oh, and the Mum is going to Los Angelez tomorrow and taking her computer with her so I won’t be able to blog until she gets back! Boo!

I’m a good Thinker!

Hey looks everyone! I got an award! How nifty is that? Eddie the Beagle gave me this Thinking Blogger Award! I have never gotten an award before. The Mum tells me that eventually I’ll get lots of awards… and prizes and fun toys and dumb ribbons for the Mum. But so far, I don’t have any, so this one is really special to me!

But there’s stuff I have to do too, to get this award. And that’s I have to name five bloggers that make me think, too!

Well I can do that easy! Because I have to think too much now living here with humans, instead of just all dogs. But that’s okay, I’m smart, and I can learn quick and think good! This is what I have to do.. and you too, for me giving you the award!

Okay so the five blogs that make me think are Fuzzy Logic, because they always have good topics about training and yummy food and stuff. And then there’s Johann, who is one of my bestest online sheltie friends in the world, and I want to be as good at agility as he is someday! Then there’s Lora who has the coolest big dogs and makes me think about rescue and big dogs and fun in the pool! And of course there is Tosca the Perfect Collie, I think about how I want to be perfect, too. And Finally Cash needs an award, because he’s having seizures and needs some love and white light and encouragement. And he is so good at obedience! The Mum makes me watch him and learn.

Going Again January 28, 2008

The Mum is so dorky! First she says to me she says “Tatum, you are gonna come with Chase and me to the flyball Semeenars and we will have fun!” Then she said… “Tatum, I don’t think you can go, because we won’t have room in the car.”

And then today she says “Tatum, guess what! You do get to go, and you get your own Semeenar too!”

What is up with this? Well, I hope I can go. She sent money in the mail today, and as long as they get it in time, I get to have a Semeenar all for my own. Just for one day, it’s the day before Chase’s semeenar. And the Mum says it’s for Puppies and Green dogs. Well, I’m not green, I’m sable, but I’m not a puppy either. But the Mum says I really am Green, ’cause Green means new, and I still think I’m not Green but What Ever!

So we get to go a day early and I get to go to the Green Dog semeenar, and I get to learn how to run with other dogs and chase them… err… I mean not chase them (we’ll see about that!). And go over jumps and do something with a box and maybe there will be a cone, too, with liver on it!

Should be fun!

Puppy Class January 27, 2008

Went to puppy class yesterday! That was fun. There were a lot of dogs there. My buddy Rift was there and I wanted to play with him. And my friend Anya was there, the little tiny rotty girl. And there was a big fuzzy black Bernese Mountain dog who was cute and I wanted to play with her. The only little puppy was Anya, but still it was fun. And I got to meet Luna, she is a really pretty border collie girl. The humans were talking about poor Luna. There is probably something wrong with her tummy. Usually the humans give us yummy treats to let us know we did something good. Well, Luna has a hurt tummy, and treats make her sick, and so she has been avoiding things that she gets treats for! Isn’t that awful! It’d be no fun at all if treats made you sick!

So luna gets to go to the doggie doctor to find out what is wrong with her poor tummy. She was so wiggly and fun, I wanted us all to play! The the Mum and the Teacher Lady wouldn’t let us. Booo!

And now the Mum says maybe I can’t go to the semeenars for flyball with Chase, cause another fllyball dog on the team, Chase Me, might go instead. Hrmph. Oh well, we will see if I can go or not. If not, I get to stay home and play with Lucy, Levi and Angel. Yay for Play!

Some Flyball Semeenars or Something January 24, 2008

The Mum says that me and Chase are going to go to a Semeenars in March to learn how to do flyball. But I only get to watch, and Chase gets to run and run and run. I don’t think it’s fair! I think I should be able to run and run and run too! I like to run just as much as Chase does and I’m faster than him too!

Well, at least I get to go. The Mum says we get to stay in a Hotel and go and play where it’s warmer than here. It’s in Las Vegas in another month. Though the Mum also said she doesn’t know for sure if we will get in because these Semeenars are popular and lots of people like to go.

I think it’ll be fun to play with Chase in the hotel. The Mum says i have to be quiet at night, it’ll be my first time in a hotel and I guess there are sounds at night that need to be barked at. But Chase and Levi don’t care about the sounds anymore so maybe I won’t either.

Am gonna learn Flyball too, and I want the Mum to send me out to the cone more! But she says I need to learn how to tug on toys with her. And I’m still not sure about that. I like to play and nip her in the butt. But I don’t hold onto the toys much!

The bone and the Mum January 21, 2008

This is me with a Venison bone. Yummy huh!? It’s really good. I took mine and laid next to Tony on his chew mat and then I growled at him to get off ’cause I wanted the whole mat to myself. The Mum kept telling me to stop because Tony was there first and I moved next to him. But Gah I’m boss of Tony!

And the Mum isn’t too bad to sleep next too. This was last night and I love to sleep on my back. This is the Mum and she’s in her PJ’s so she wanted only a small picture of her on my blog. (But if you click on it you’ll see her bigger bahahaa.. don’t tell her I said so!)

The Mum said we chewed up all the bones but I want more! She got the insides out for us though and they were super yummy. They are hard, she had to use her monkey fingers and a knife even, because it was pretty hard to get out!

Me and the Cone

Okay so the Mum set up this orange cone thingy in the basement today. She was reading these white papers I really wanted to eat earlier today, but she wouldn’t let me she said they were important for flyball. I’ve been to watch Chase do flyball and it looks fun but I want to play with the other dogs instead of go over jumps. But it’d be fun to chase the other dogs down the line of jumps!

Anyway so the Mum put the cone and I wanted to sniff it so I did and whaaa! I made a click! Then I got a piece of liver. So I stared that the Mum’s hands and then she put them behind her. I hate it when she does that. I don’t like looking at her face or eyes much yet so I look at her hands instead. They hold the treats anyway. But then she put a piece of liver on the cone and when I went to eat it I made the click again! And then she put the liver on the cone for a while and so I kept making a click when I ate it. Was fun! And then she’d put the cone waaaaay over on the other side of the room and I wanted to go check it out to see if it had liver on it and guess what? It did!

Some of the time the cone didn’t have any liver on it but I went to see anyway, and when I touched it with my nose I made the click happen and then went back to the Mum for the liver. Yummy! The Mum says that this is gonna help my flyball as well as my obedience go outs. And even my distance work for agility. I dunno about any of that yet I just like to go and get liver from the cone, and make the click happen.

Then the Mum wanted to play and chase me around the house but I just wanted liver and I was kinda tired. The Mum said I’m supposed to get really excited and run to the cone and then run back really fast. But she was using liver, not toys, and I don’t get fast about liver. So she says soon we’ll have to stop doing the liver and just use the toy to get me super excited. After we did the cone stuff and some weird stuff with cheese on a stick I only played with Chase and the Mum outside in the yard for a few minutes. Now I’m sleeping on the couch next to the Mum. We gots to chew yummy bones again this morning and oh I should put up a picture of me chewing that the Mum took! I’ll go do that too.

The Mum is a Mean Mum January 20, 2008

The Mum likes to take my pictures with her new camera and she is chasing me around like the pupparazzi! Ugh. This is a silly picture of me but she made me put it up here. Okay I did it anyway ’cause it’s funny.

The Mum, today, she had to make this noisy thing go against my toes. I hate it when she touches my feet. Hate it bad bad and super bad. My back feet are okay she can rumble the dremel thingy against them as long as she lets me eat squeeze cheese. But not my front feets! But she did it anyway even though I squirmed like a little piggie. She called me a piggie!

I do like my toenails short, though. They are more comfy that way and I can walk better. She tries to touch my feet a lot and I guess I’m getting used to it, but I still don’t like it!

Playing in the Snow January 16, 2008

GADS the Mum hasn’t let me on the computer forEVER! I mean it. She’s been doing computer things and says no time, Tatum, no time! And for us chatty collies we need computer time! Bah!

So she got a new camera, she thinks it’s pretty fancy and wanted me to put up these pictures of me that she took in the back yard. Chase likes to play with me in the snow, though still he doesn’t chase me ’round and ’round like I like. But he’s the best playmate I got so I live with it. Oh, except the Mum. She’s great to play with. I get to nip her in the but, and she squeals and it’s so fun!

But the Mum says that when I first came she wanted me to start playing with her a lot, and now that I know I’m safe here that I have to learn some playing rules and we get to play when the Mum wants. What about what I want? Bah. I’ll just nip her in the but to play anyway.

Tatum Tot - Tatum Tail - Domain Something January 7, 2008

So the Mum has told me that she has changed the domain something name of my cool blog. It was www.TatumTail.com but she didn’t want to wait for that name to move to the new host… not sure how you can move a name, can’t you just rename something? Whatever.

So she changed the name of my this cool blog to http://www.tatumtot.com/. You can still reach it from http://www.tatumtail.com/ if you want to. And once the domain is old enough (how can a name be old?) she says 60 days old, then she’ll move it too but since my blog is new then it is going to take a while and man this is a long sentence. BREATHE.
